I did know that it could be reset and that it's not a reliable method or determining whether a car has been driven well or not. My point was supposed to be that I was surprised that the car achieved such a high average MPG - I was expecting 20ish mpg. At the moment, in the last couple days of driving (no motorway or dual carriageway really) I'm on about 23ish which I'm thinking isn't too bad. It might get a bit better once I calm down a bit and the excitement wears off. I hope it does soon or I can see me being a regular visitor at the tyre shop...

I'm on 41k (04 plate) and the clutch still feels quite tight, and it's not been changed as far as I can tell...

Not much of a help, I know, but I changed all 8 pads on mine this weekend and when I took it out to try them out both lights came on for me. I drove it home quite upset, read through the manual, didn't find anything which was relevant so went outside started her up and the lights were gone. Not come on since (apart from when I turn ESP off!). There are a few things in the manual that can cause it apparently, have a look and see if any of them might point to some work you've done recently. I'm sure it's nothing major. It'll be worth it once you get it sorted.

Noooooooooooo. I just (literally 2 minutes ago) bought a policy from Direct Line after a lot of shopping around and it's cost me £900! I'm 25, 11k miles a year, got an SP30 and 4 years no claims. Got the gf on there too to lower the premium. Where'd you get insured for £450??

I don't normally like gold alloys (or Red 350s) but I think these suit your car, and the two go together well - keep 'em like that. Bargain price too

32? Crikey, not bad going. After reading other average MPG threads on here before I kind of expected mine to be around the 20 mark. Just put a bit of confidence in me that the car might not have been ragged everywhere by the previous owner. It's something I don't like to think about when buying cars because there's absolutely no way of knowing how it's been treated. Suppose if it's all still in one piece and not making any funny noises that's also a good sign.

Just noticed while flicking through the 350z 'pooter the average MPG... That's got to be a good sign. Anyone else seen such a high figure in that little box before? I'm surprised but I'll doubt it will stay that way for long

I'm 25 this weekend and bought my Zed last week. Not insuring it till next week cos it'll save me around £400 on my insurance. Short answer: 24.9

I'm looking at doing the OEM Bose HU upgrade to change the tape deck to an Aux input. Looks like a relatively simple mod. However, I don't want to have a male phono sticking out of the cubby, I'd rather mount a female in there and plug in cable from my MP3 player, so when it's not in the car I don't have a bundle of cable taking up space. Thing is I can't seem to find a female jack cable with a mounting nut and washer anywhere, looked on Lindys and Maplins and a few other places. I know they exist - anyone got any ideas where I might find one?? Cheers.

Just a quick update on the engine flush situation... I had to book my car in for the P1 and an MOT and so I asked what was included in the price. I spoke to both Sunwin garages near me - Nottingham and Ilkeston. They both said oil & filter, fuel additive and an engine flush, as well as a quick look over the brakes and other important areas of the car. So I guess the engine flush wouldn't hurt if Nissan include it in all their service schedules. Not sure what type of flush or fuel additive they use though... Also, just so you know, I decided to book it in at the Ilkeston garage as they were a lot more polite and helpful on the phone. I will, however, be opting out of the flush and additive and taking my own oil as it saved me over £100 and the car's only covered 6k since the last P3 service. I'll definitely be getting both done on the next P2. Will post my opinions of the garage & service after I take it next week...

Can't I be a Z newbie? Seen other people's profiles with that moniker with less posts than mine. I'm still Hopeful. I'm strangely offended by the fact I'm a hopeful when I actually own a 350 already. eBay at the moment are around £80 with £100 shipping! I'm not paying that, no way no how. Any idea if they'd come with the fittings I'd need, or do I just buy a few self tappers and go for it?

Hmmm... Holdcrofts website didn't yield too many results. just car sales by the looks of things. (Am I missing something?) JDM Performance look promising but they're £50 a pair and it looks like they come unpainted. £100 for some mud flaps does not seem like a good deal. Ayup guys. After looking at the dribble-inducing pictures of your cars in a post further down I've decided I want to make a subtle change to mine. I'm after some splash guards - a nice cheap (hopefully), standard looking mod that doesn't require huge work or time or money and maybe provides a bit of extra protection to the paint. So, where can I get them from? I've seen a few for sale on American websites, but none over here. Preferably I'd like them in Blade silver, but I can get them sprayed without too much fuss so non-painted or the wrong colour would be fine at the right price. I'm assuming they're difficult to get hold of because they're a Nissan part? So any shops, websites or anybody who has some lying around please let me know! Cheers.

Noticed a few times when searching the forums, if after I've searched and read a thread, when I click my browsers back button (IE7) I get a 'Webpage has expired' page. I have to go back to the search and start again. I reckon if that didn't happen I'd post a lot less stupid questions! Otherthanthat, great site - visited daily for the last few months.
