  1. Haven't heard from R35LEE for a couple of days now unfortunately (he did say he had some in stock from low mileage cars) and I'm starting to worry about not protecting that edge of the door aswell. Might have a go at the weekend and see what I can do myself.
  2. Don't know about common, more likely people getting hold of that part when they're opening/closing the door that causes this one
  3. Posted in the tech section and was advised to put up a wanted so here's the story: As you can see from the picture, the clip for the external rubber guide on the passenger side window has snapped. http://s625.photobucket.com/albums/tt33 ... C00005.jpg If anyones breaking a zed and want to give me a price for the part then by all means PM me or if someone can point me in the direction of someone who's breaking one then it would be much appreciated. Cheers, Jamie
  4. As you can see from the picture, the clip for the external rubber guide on the passenger side window has snapped. http://s625.photobucket.com/albums/tt332/Jammy_007/?action=view&current=DSC00005.jpg Will a bit of strong plastic adhesive sort it out. I noticed the clips kind of 'sprung' so it may be a problem. Anyone else encountered this and whats easiest fix as I'm sure Nissan will charge me an arm and a leg for the part and if its as easy as bonding the plastic clip back into position then i'll go down that route. If anyones breaking a zed and want to give me a price for the part then by all means PM me or if someone can point me in the direction of someone who's breaking one then it would be much appreciated. 5. You can get a courier for £27.99 off ebay for a set of 4 alloy wheels with tyres. Thats from a company called paisley freight. They've also got their own website which is paisleyfreight.com I've used them in the past when I bought some 17" alloy wheels and tyres from a guy in Norfork for the FTO & I live way up in Cumbria. Distance doesn't bump up the cost anymore and delivery is next day. I'm sure my delivery ended up arriving in something like a whiteline courier van. As long as the seller packages them well, then not a problem. Although reading about Paisley in the link above, then someone seems to have had problems with them. I didn't have a problem at all though.
  6. Those are the VZ's I have, they are really smart, got them over in the states so saved a bit of cash on them R Ditto...... they were $110 over there so very cheap compared to here. They don't fit in the sunglasses holder though
  7. Von Zippers all the way! Raybans sat in the sunglasses holder and the more pimpin' Von Zipper 'Stache' in white found in the centre console
  8. Thanks guys, liking the newspaper & front garden idea the best. Yes he's a skinny dweeb and I don't think there's any issues with him keying my car (it would certainly be the last thing he did) anyway i'm sure i'll have my revenge one way or another
  9. My next door neighbours had a dropped kerb installed by a previous owner illegally (a quick job on the side with no council permission). Now I know its illegal to park over a dropped kerb (restricted access and all that) but if that kerbs been installed illegally then can you park over it? We only live in a terraced row of houses, so its not as if it'd be blocked for emergency vehicle access. Having trouble with the neightbours at the moment over land issues and they're being really petty so obviously I'm keeping a few petty ones in my back pocket for a rainy day
  10. If anyone is travelling to America in the next few weeks I have a Net 10 mobile phone (LG Branded) for sale complete with charger & also 100 minutes of airtime remaining. These minutes can be used to call the UK and is probably one of the cheapest ways of calling home. There is around 30 service days left on the phone and once this has gone IIRC you then have to either top up or buy a new sim card with credit. Once the sims been dormant for a while after the service days are gone they de-activate the sim card so as I won't be going back to America in the near future hence the sale. Only looking for £10 + P&P
  11. Is it something any dealership can do to free the CD cassette? or do you mean go and see them and they'll deal with Clarion for me? i.e......will any Nissan Dealership deal with Clarion for me for a replacement as the radio is under warranty with Clarion and not "Fred Coupe" where I got the car from. Just wondering Martin really as it would be so much easier to get it done up here. I already wrote the serial numbers down for the BOSE before they fitted it so at least I don't have to have it removed twice i suppose?
  12. Had a new Bose fitted (not sure how new now) a few months back as my speakers kept cutting out, which is a common problem with the BOSE. Anyhows to cut a long story short, I've now got all 6 of the CD's stuck in the changer, it says eject, all it does is whirr & then says press eject again. I've tried pressing eject & then a number and also just holding down eject for a while. The strange thing is though, is that CD 1 plays fine. After reading other threads all I can assume is that the casette which holds the CD's has jammed with CD 1 in the player. Has anyone sucessfully had one of these repaired (for the above problem) by anyone other than clarion? Or has anyone managed to unstick the casette part themselves? I'm covered under a 12 month warranty by Clarion from when I had a new one fitted a couple of months ago. One problem is the dealership is quite a trek so don't really want to go there unless I have to, plus there is a bit of bad blood between us now after various problems. My other problem is that there are at least 4 "CD-R's" in the changer. Now I don't know where I stand with the warranty as somewhere in one of the books it says that CD-R's shouldn't be used IIRC. Can anyone shed a bit of light please? I'm off to America tomorrow aswell, would have liked to sort it out before I went but its looking highly unlikely
  13. Does the spills grounding kit have to be declared to the insurance and if so would it affect my premiums if I bought one? Cheers peeps
  14. I really need to know guys that if I buy a tom tom 520 can I then download maps from a torrent site and put these on an SD Card, will the 520 read them? I don't know how the whole tomtom map upgrade thing works in general. Please help
  15. My Raybans fit fine and those are rather large
  16. No problem...... Enjoy the zed, mines getting better as the weather improves. I only bought mine in September and its been rather crap weather since. Also get a introduction topic up with some pics of the car. I'd like to note, Martin, that although he used this forum before I seen him I'm claiming that as my first forum referal
  17. Nice Gentleman in a Lexus stopped me when I pulled into a BP garage in Carlisle to ask if I knew how to knock the "phone" off his BOSE Headunit.... I've told him about this forum and he said he'd have a look. Hopefully add another member to keep Martin happy. Does anyone know how to remove the "phone" from the BOSE so he can listen to the radio/cd again? I don't have a bluetooth module so unfortunately I don't have a clue.
  18. Thanks for the info Vasser. I was against driving over there but had a few people I know just come back from Orlando and they highly recommended a car, so i'm biting the bullet. If I don't make it back in one piece I may get the parents to raffle my zed off on the website to raise a bit of money for themselves. Unless my dad decides to become a forum whore!!
  19. Woman driving it and my mate gave her the website address and told her about the forum so hopefully it'll be another one to add to the cumbrian list!!
  20. Spotted by a mate who works at a local garage in Workington Azure Blue GT number plate PX06 **V. Hope he passed the message on about this forum as I asked. Just had 4 brand new tyres fitted which I believe wasn't cheap!!!
  21. Ebay Links dead? Is this item sold?
  22. Cheers for the help guys as usual. I'll just get myself a tomtom as the garmin maps seem harder to come across and update for free
  23. We stayed in the Jurys Inn on Albert Docks and that was nice. One of the footy lads organised it but we only paid about £30 each (twin rooms). I don't know if that was because it was an introductory offer as it had just opened. Only about 10 minute walk from city centre. Although the travel lodge that Martin is talking about it bang on for location.
  24. But can the cheaper models accept US maps if I got a version of these from a "friend"?
  25. Hi guys, I'm off to America in April (Disney) and as this is my first trip to the states and also my first driving experience of an automatic and a LHD I'm going to have to be concentrating on the roads for the first couple of days before I get the hang of the car and their system. I'm looking at getting a sat nav for the zed and was wondering if there was one that can be updated with the florida maps so I can take it with me rather than hire one over there. I obviously would like to obtain these maps free from the internet rather than pay half the cost of the sat nav again to never use the florida maps again. I know we had trouble finding garmin maps for my work colleague so what does everyone recommend? I know they can be hired over there but as I'm looking at buyig a sat nav anyways, its kind of pointless hiring one. Any info / help would be appreciated Cheers, Jamie
