I have a set of stripped brembos from a fiat coupe if they are any use to you? dont know if they will fit.

Does anyone know the correct torque setting for the standard strut brace? had to take mine off last week and i thinki may have over tightened it.

My idle is a tad lower than that but she is due a service. The idle is quite rough at times, you can feel the engine rocking. It is overdue a service so hopefully some ew oil and plugs should improve things.

Just drove 120 miles from work back to wales, whenever i came to a stop there is definately an oil smell, i dont appear to be using any oil but it is still concerning and i get paranoid... not my fault my last car was a fiar coupe! The oil pressure did drop slightly yesterday but it was scorchio. What is the standard idle speed for UK cars?

It's not using any more than usual, it's going in for a service in two weeks so ill see if they can have a look then.

The last weeke or so there has been a smell of burning oil coming from the car whenever i come to a stop after driving. I've had the plenum off after dropping a washer into the filler about two days after the smell started. I first noticed the smell after topping the oil up, the oil was definately not overfilled as i was very carefull to add it in stages. There are no obvious leaks, drips or wet patches so im a bit lost. Has anyone else ever had any problems like this? It is definately an oil smell, so im ruling out clutch/coolant.

Looks good, can they do a gloss carbon look too?

The invoauto cai is this the carbon one with carbon intake hose?

Just phoned them they said about £80 for the P2 if i supply the oil and plugs. Happy days. Think i will get the tranny/coolant changed while im at it. Great success! Cheers Ian. Nath

Does anyone happen to know the part numbers for the following; Oil filter, sump plug crush washer, transmission fill and drain washers. If i can get hold of these i was thinking of putting together a list of part numbers for serivce items as im sure others would find the information usefull. Cheers, Nath.

I'm due a service on the car, the 54,000 p2 in my case. Having phoned around i've had prices ranging from £217.15 to £291.15. I would like to get the gearbox oil changed at the same time so that will no doubt push the cost up by about £40. I'm confident in my mechanical ability and have done quite a lot of mechanical jobs on the cars i have owned so im thinking of servicing the car myself. All in i think i could do it for about £150 thats with Sikolene Pro S and Denso IKH16's which are no doubt an upgrade to the standard items. My question is this does anyone know of or can reccomend an alternative the the Nissan Coolant and Transmission oil? I know Nissan use a 70w-85w ATF but there are loads of aftermarket alternatives. Any help would be appreciated.

Been thinking about doing this too, but i cant think of a colour i think will go with the car and the seats (tan). The other more expensive option was to cover the lot in leather with orange double stitching... that will cost a lot more wonga though!

Well after a good hour or so of prodding around with a telescopic magnet this morning with no luck i had to strip the whole thing down, the worst part was removing the lower of the two rubber hoses that go to the throttle body as they had never been off before. I lost some skin taking that off but apart from that it wasnt too bad. The washer had rolled back slightly as my parent house live on quite a steep street, but i was obvious when the cam cover came off it was just sitting there laughing at me . Car is back together now, i've checked all the hoses i removed and they are all connected properly and all the nuts and bolt are tightened so hopefully all should be well. On the plus side fitting a plenum spacer should take half the time now

I was removing the engine cover this evening to investigate an oily smell, I removed all the bolts that hold the cover in place. I tried to remove the cover but couldn't get it past the filler cap so I removed the cap. While sliding the cover forward I heard something drop into the filler cap. Naturally I was deflated and gutted. It was one if the large washers from under the cover. I know better than to start the car, so I had a good look around the engine bay but couldn't find the washer, so it's almost certainly gone into the head. Has anyone got any experience removing the cam cover? From what I can see i will need to remove the plenum, intake, and right hand cam cover. I'm hoping to get the cover off and it will just be sitting there!

I'm going to be buying a full v1 kit when i get my bonus from work in about two months, just wondering whom is the best bet these days? Can some of the traders give me some prices including the spoiler please. Nath.
