  1. Excellent, yes please I'm always thinking of my belly I'll probably drag my house mate along too - so best put x2. I'll confirm thats a 2 and not 1 for definite 1st thing..
  2. Am I too late for this one? Also - AdrianK, I work in Newbury - lived in Enborne most of my life, but over in Swindon these days If you're going we could perhaps convoy it up there, unless you're going the night before? Cheers, Chris.
  3. Wheel Spacers.......Check Dodo Juice Purple Haze over Meguires Show Room Glaze.....Check Result: Along with many, many other chemicals, wheel cleaners and sealants etc... also got to use my new ultimate snow foam, awesome stuff. Wheel spacers would have been the favourite job today had I not gauged my knuckles, so in 1st place is applying dodo juice by hand Hope you like, I love
  4. Was that to do with getting the centre pipe properly shoved into the backbox? Thats what fixed that bit of knocking for me, it pulled the centre up and to the left giving loads more clearance..
  5. You can see how badly the scorpion fits in my detailing post, and the experience I had fitting the thing in my exhaust post... Theres a vid on you tube, it does sound awsomely awsome.. And the fit is better now than it was. It will be perfect when I've got some more time.. Heres a vid on youtube of another members: I chose the K&N as I've always had them in the past so knew what to expect.. And because it came with pretty much everything in one box
  6. Not bad, but not as good as I'd hoped. Can't hear it rattling around under there, but thats probably because the whole things quite LOUD now... Have you had probs?
  7. After phoning the AA to advise them of my modifications, they said they wouldn't cover the induction kit, even though it makes no difference to performance. I took this policy out in August when I got the car for the princely sum of £1076. I have just cancelled this, and taken out a new one with Sky via QBE. Including modifications, upto 15K miles per year and 2 years no claims with no convictions / claims in last 5 years my new premium is... ..£741!! That makes me rather happy Cheers Sky! Chris.
  8. Morning all, Got busy last night and fitted my K&N Typhoon along with my Summit brace (cheers for the speedy delivery BigPhil!). Apologies for the dodgy camera phone picture.. As you can see I need to get busy with the degreaser at the weekend, anyone got suggestions on a good cleaner that won't eat all of the rubber if I overspray it? Now I've done this, I going to have to get myself the obligatory carbon covers and slam panel Wheel spacers should be here today, so thats tomorrow sorted along with my dodo juice
  9. **53 RPZ Followed you until I turned off at Tott Hill services exit, looked completely standard but was GT. Z was 2-up.
  10. Lol, thats my neighbours, and unfortunately shes bought it for when she passes her test so I'm forced to look at it 24/7 Time to invest in a wall ... It looks pink... some peoples taste Yeah, redefines 'shocking' pink..
  11. Evening, I've had an idea on sorting my Scorpion exhaust out without sending it back and paying for fitting again... Scorpion said they'd change it no problem, but to be honest I can't be bothered. So I was thinking earlier about what I could do.. The Scorpion bore is 4" / 101.6 mm. If I could find an exhaust trim of at least 1mm more that either bolts / clamps or welds on I could get it looking good at the right length each side. Problem is looking at it - I can get something thats 5" but the bolts are only good for a diameter half the size of the Scorpion bore.. Anyone had any experience of this? I also thought maybe someone who fabricates this stuff might be able to make something... A long shot I know, but don't know unless you ask Cheers, Chris.

  13. Anyone got a photo of one on their Z?
  14. First proper wash seeing as I was sat around and the sun was in and out.. Using: - Foam Lanced with Halfords own Shampoo - Lambs Wool Mit Washed with Meguires Gold Class Shampoo - Meguires Water Magnate to dry - Meguires NXT Tech Wax and applicator + taken off with microfibres - Simonez wheel cleaner, followed by autoglymn wheel wax and tyre Also got the Autosol on the pedals, and had a crack at a few bits under the bonnet as its a mess Heres a fair few pics! You can see my ropey scorpion exhaust in the above pic.. Todays helper was Rosie! Before attacking the engine bay And after... This is my new headunit, makes good use out of the standard bose setup, also has bluetooth built in for my phone and an ipod connection which I've run into the cubby hole. The lead also charges my satnav and blackberry I've discovered! Last but not least... Taken my 5 hours in all, not a bad way to spend the afternoon.. Hope you like it, I love it when its clean - can't stop looking at it, which doesn't impress her indoors all that much! Mods so far are the stereo, scorpion exhaust , and the honda stubby aerial. Tomorrow my K&N typhoon arrives. Then I want to do the wheel spacers + lowering springs, and a nice strut brace to replace the nasty one it comes with, and finally the white inserts for the front bumper. I'm not into big spoilers and valances so that'll be it - nice well chosen mods I think, just enough to make it mine Cheers, Chris.
  15. Anyone know where I can pick one of these up today, got the day off so better put it to good use I was thinking the Honda garage might be my first port of call - what are people paying for them? Cheers Chris.
  16. Hi Ian, They are the same height, they do not stick out of the back the same distance, or anywhere near... I'll photo it tomorrow..
  17. I'll phone them tomorrow when I've calmed down a bit.. I'd like to think that they'd send a new one to my local fitter, arrange the fitting and take the old one back, problem is that ideal worlds only ever exist in my head!
  18. Hi all, Thought I'd report back after fitting my Scorpion cat back (not including Y-pipe) today.. First off, only snapped one bolt - and it was on the old backbox, so nothing to worry about there - overall was just fiddly and difficult angles under the car with only two axel stands. Offered up the new system, all looked good - got the centre section on there first, secured with the two bolts into the Y-pipe.. First problem, the centre pipe runs on the plastic/fibre glass cover that goes around the diff, so thats off until I mod it. Second problem, mounting the new back box - WHAT A NIGHTMARE! I don't know what I did to Nissan to warrant my hands taking that kind of punishment, theres just no room at all under there! Main problem here is that at the rear right of the car, there is a metal frame bolted on underneath which holds a plastic cover - this in turn covers some component that has a mesh on the bottom - looks like something to do with the air system, but not sure. So, to get the thing on, that all had to come off too. I'll be taking the angle grinder to it and cutting out the bit that would otherwise rub on the new zorst. Step back and look at it from behind, and the whole lot is offset to the left So spent an hour wiggling it to try and get it more central.. Eventually gave up as it just wasn't doing anything. Put it all back together, tightened up the clamp that holds back to centre, and took it for a test drive. After 5 mins, I can just hear knocking noises left right and centre!!! At this point, I took it down the local exhaust fitters and they had a crack at it for an hour. Basically they took the back box off and seriously rammed it back on to the centre pipe. This bought the centre pipe up and left, and off of the thing it was knocking on up near the Y-pipe - looks like a metal mesh of some description which doesn't appear to do anything! All sounding great now and no knocking, so I'm pretty happy.. I say pretty because when you look at it the left hand pipe sticks out 2-3 CM's more than the right, which is quite set back.. To be honest it doesn't look great and is always going to bug me. The only thing I can think of doing is taking it off again, grinding 2 cm's off of the centre pipe, and then fitting it all back again in an attempt to drag the left hand side back further.. I read on here that someone else has had a shabby experience with an ill-fitting Scorpion exhaust, so maybe I'm another victim of ropey quality control.. As I just spent £350 on it including the garage time I'm not in a position to change it again anytime soon.. The good news is that it looks sh!t but sounds awesome No pics yet, as I was in such a stress I couldn't be bothered! So theres my experience in a day, I'll let you know if I can ever be arsed to take it off again and start grinding
  19. OK, cheers for that. What a pain in the arse. As usual assumption was the mother of all f**k ups once again, one day I'll learn! £32 difference per tyre as well, obviously there's zero demand for the 40's, or the opposite, or something...
  20. The Rays are 225 x 45 R18 and 245 x 45 R18 so the profile (45) is the same. It's the width 225 and 245 that varies giving the 'staggered' appearance. I think you've perhaps confused the width with the profile. Great, that means I've got the wrong tyres on the way then!! I just re-ordered the sizes that were on there already Rear: 245x45x18 Front: 225x40x18 Sorry to hijack the thread, is this going to be an issue?
  21. They're looking good So you have the same profile front and rear now, I'm guessing that taking the rear from 45 to 35 and moving fronts from 25 upto 35 balances it out somehow?
  22. Hi All, Just paid black circles £330 for all 4 tyres delivered, but they couldn't arrange fitting for Tuesday, which is the only time I'm off this week.. After inspection this morning, even tho the front tyres are brand new mitchelin pilot sports, 1 has a slow and the other has a gash in the side wall. The rears have a small amount of tread left and are showing cracking signs, so I bit the bullet and bought all four. Now for the funny bit: My local tyre fitter told me it would be £35 per wheel fitting because the wheels are bigger than normal and it would be difficult - I actually laughed down the phone at him before hanging up! So, anyone know of anywhere near me that would do it for reasonable, i.e. around the normal £12.50 or less per corner? Cheers in advance, Chris.
  23. Didn't notice, t'was all a blur! I've been keeping an eye out for yours while I'm up here this week - not seen it yet tho
  24. Nice, found the eibach spacers - S90-6-20-019_1 x 2 for £68 per pair.. Anyone have experience of G-Max springs, they're are half the money of the Eibach ones - and I know what thay usually means..
