  3. The zeds only my third car.

Firstly started off with my corsa sxi.

17" team dynamics monza, remus exhaust and K&N 57ki. it was my pride and joy.

Then swapped it for something a tad more practicle.

The 22"s made it a tad impracticle but loved the looks it used to get.

Then swapped it for the Zed

  4. Was thinking it would be useful to have one of these if anything ever goes wrong.

What does everyone have? I dont really want one that plugs into a laptop as i have a mac and its not always compatible with all software.

  5. I changed my rear pads a while ago and since doing so the back brakes seem to have been binding slightly (catching noise). I thought this would stop once they were properly bedded in but its still happening. The front disks and pads were changed aswell.

Just to confirm it was the rear pads i jacked the car up and spun the front wheels around they spun 3 to 4 turns once i had pushed them with only the slightest sound of the pads catching. I did the same with the rears and they only managed half a turn so i have since come to the conclusion that it is the hand brake.

Ive taken the rear pads out and they were all fine.

How do i adjust the handbrake as it is a facelift model and the guides seem to be for the prefacelift interior and lifting the ashtray out.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

  8. Hi Guys hope you all had a good time in wales.

I got back today from a 10day holiday and went to start the Zed but to my horror she wouldn't start.

The starter motor was turning strong but it just wouldn't fire.

I put the car in 1st and rocked it back and forth just to make sure the flywheel wasnt stuck or something. Heard of it happening on old cars.

And then tried it again and it went, however it showed the engine management light.

Will this likely be because i could smell fuel when i was trying to start it and thus when it did start it thought it was running rich?

I've done an ecu reset and it seems fine now. Just want to know some of the experts views.

Its a 56plate with a blitz exhaust and pop charger.

    Cheers

    Jim

  9. I've done 2 track days and bought insurance both times. In my opinion its well worth it as you insure a figure not the car if that makes sense. I insured my car for £17k and i know thats more than the market value but if i had a crash i had to pay a 10% excess and then the rest was paid by them.

In my opinion it just offers a piece of mind that if the worst happens your covered.

I believe the ring isn't covered by most people tho.

    Jim
