  1.

If you have two years driving similar cars also try Chris Knott who is on here and gives a forum discount. Sky are also offering discount to members.

It's actually just 1 year's experience on our scheme!

  2. Yes, Chris gave me the best price and the lady on the phone was great, she knew what she was talking about.

And i've got to say the scheme seems to working really well for members so glad we can help.

Please don't forget to ring us at renewal!

  3. Hi all,

Trying to get some accurate quotes for my planned purchase but I'm unsure about the question that's asked 'Is an alarm or immobiliser fitted?' They give the option manufacturers fitted (which it is) and Thatcham cat 1 (which it is). Trouble is the quote is cheaper with the second entry  . Came across this issue with my last car and the insurance help desk doesn't seem to know either. Last time I was told I would have to produce a certificate if the alarm was cat1.....well I didn't have one as its factory fitted!

Has anybody found the answer to this or do I just put cat 1 and if it is ever queried show them the glossy brochure?

One would think that with todays technology insurance companies would know if a manufacurers fitted device was cat 1

If you qualify for the 350Z insurance scheme - http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... ae8607c79a - your car doesn't need an immobiliser as a prerequisite to getting insurance.

  4. Hi guys,

First post, but straight to the point. Im looking at buying a used 350z and have been trying to find a few typical quotes to see what i would roughly pay. It would be interesting to know what people pay of the same age group.

Im 24 and have a clean licence with no previous claims.

Also as i am looking for a 350, is there anything to look out for that stands out i.e. problems? I have looked through the forum and found a few things but anything else would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Andy

In terms of insurance, as long as you have experience of driving similar performance cars, you would qualify for our scheme.

  5. Just a thought, if i stuck 245/50/17 instead of the stock size 235/50/17, and i mashed the car up some unsuspecting brick wall, could my insurance company refuse to pay out on this technicality?

As long as you declare all mods to your insurers, you'll be OK.

If you don't, you do run the risk of them declining the claim.

  6. Hi to all!

This forum have been in discussion with ourselves about an insurance scheme for registered users on here. We are glad to say that we have signed the deal so I'd just like to introduce myself & our company!

Chris Knott Insurance - http://www.chrisknott.co.uk - have been involved with car clubs for over 20 years so hopefully we'll understand your needs & requirements!

The scheme is for both standard and modified cars with cosmetic changes and bhp increases by no more than 50bhp.

It starts for ages 30 and over, and you must have at least 1 year's NCB – no introductory discounts are allowed.

All drivers must have held a full UK licence for at least 1 year, and to insure a 'performance' car, there must be at least 1 years experience of driving that car. Unfortunately, the scheme is not competitive on all M - Manchester, L - Liverpool, OL - Oldham & SK1-12 - Stockport postcodes, and excludes Northern Ireland.

No more than 1 SP/PC/PL conviction offence per driver.

The minimum premiums are £250 for Comprehensive & £200 for TPFT cover, so please don’t ring if your quote is less than this!

We consistently have a very high renewal retention rate meaning that people renew with us because of our constantly competitive insurance premiums & experienced, reliable customer and claims service. That is why we can promote this insurance scheme knowing that we are in it for the long term.

I'll view the site regularly and try to answer any queries that you have also.

In the meantime, please feel free to call the New Business Team when you receive your renewal through. A dedicated team, with years of experience, is waiting for your call! (I personally don't do the quotes).

0800 917 2274 or 01424 200477 (if phoning by mobile) & please don't forget to quote the reference found in my signature below and the club name!
