  1. right, back to basics for me. When you say that you polished it did you use the various grades of sandpaper with the megs polish/autosol or did you just save the megs polish/autosol till the last step?

At the moment mine has loads of soot on the inside of the tips, whats the best solution to get rid of that? I normally use an old alloy wheel cleaner and some megs gold class but that doesn't get rid of the ground in stuff.

  2. Thabnks for the replies peeps. Work internet is poor at the moment (we are running IE6!) so I cannot open the JDM site, but I'll have a look tonight when I get home. Mike has the right bit, its the Z in his picture.

Cheers Lexx for keeping the thread on line

  3. Sparky, as everyone has said previously I'm sorry to hear the news. Hope you have a quick recovery and as mentioned something to focus on will help you through. Regarding this, I'd say to sell the Zed and pocket the money for something when you can drive again Looking would keep me on my toes and give me something to look forward to, is that the same with you?

In place of the Zed being your main focus, try and find something you can focus on.

  4. Hi Guys,

Whilst I was away on honeymoon, I gave my brother the Zed to use as part of his wedding present. He managed to snap the zed badge on the back whilst cleaning it :boxing: so I was wondering if anyone has one that I could use please?

Also, there seems to be some spongy sticky black stuff used originally to attach the Zed to the boot. Does anyone know where I can get some from to reattach the new Zed badge, or do you have some suggestions of something else to use in its place?

    Cheers

  5. Got some Auto glym leather cream and cleaner - i hear that turning the heated seats on for a while makes the treatment more effective - or is this rubbish lol :headhurt:
I'll get corrected quickly if I'm wrong but I would have thought the heated seats would dry the leather out and that is what you are trying to avoid doing?

I do agree with other though, lose the GT badge

  6. Sorry mate, just got my head back into work mode and come back on the forums. I'm unavailable for this sunday. Hope you get enough for a run out.

Don't bank on the weather being nice, I'm at a cricket match and then a BBQ on the afternoon so its bound to chuck it down!

  7. which converts to £34 worth of their deals in the magazine you get through each month. Using the vouchers from my parents and ours, in the space of 4 years we have had about £2000 worth of jewlery from Goldsmiths from them including 2 wedding rings.

I use the 99 ron momentum but the first time I saw it had changed I went in and asked them. Better to be safe then sorry

  8. I think what I was doing was putting too much on (probably dabs twice the size of yours) and then not working it in enough therefore leaving loads of polish on the pad. I was just a bit over cautious (by the sounds of it) of causing damage to the paint, but on reflection its quite hard to do with a random orbit polisher. I'm due to give it another go soon and will be a bit more manly about it :)

    Thanks for the tips

  9. Bad news: Lexx I'm gutted to say that for your last Zed meet I will be unable to attend. I hope you have a really good turn out though and have my fingers and toes (and anything else crossed) for good weather because.........

Good news: I'm getting married on the same day. Never fear lads, the Zed will be getting a run out, and will be driven to the Church by my brother. He also will be having it for the 3 weeks I'm on honeymoon but he doesn't know that yet.......so mums the word! :secret::shutup: Thought it would be a better present then the usual cufflinks and tie set, although he is getting one of them too!

Have a great one guys! Can't wait for the pics.

  10. Hi Tez, really good results there the exhaust especially looks stunning!

One question I have. I was correcting the pink paint on my parents batter old corsa (something to prctice on before I move onto the Zed) and the pad had quite a bit of polish built up on it. In this situation is it best to change the pad, or wash it and carry on using it once it had dried a bit? I noticed that the build up was affecting the results I was getting.

  11. :welcome: to the forum! You'll probably have picked the car up by now, so its time to say :worthless:

I'm based in the North East too, so we'll probably catch up in the next few months when we get around to oranising another meet.

One thing I will say about petrol is that I was under the impression from the booklet that you are meant to run it in 97 ron or higher. I always put in 99 ron Tesco super unleaded in it.

Use the search button and see what people say. No point buying the car and scrimping on the looney juice!
