Looking for info on a texting system

Anyone here been involved in setting up a texting system in work? I’ve been asked to source a system which we can use to send out appointment reminders. I’ve two options: 1, a system that is capable of selecting the info from our db and send our the reminders or 2, a system that’ll use a dump file from our db to do the same.

 

My problem is that I cant find any useful info on it. Plenty of small companies that seem to offer a service but not a such a scale and they wont offer any info up front. Bad business if you ask me. I spoke with our account manager in O2 but they don’t offer a service but did tell me that one of our minor competitors does it.

 

Anyone got any experience of this sort of thing?

Thanks. Found many sites like that offering similar services. I may of found one though that are going to look at customizing their product to integrate with our system.
