Headunit parking brake wire

Recently brought a double din sony headunit fitted it into the car but I didnt connect the parking brake wire which only lets you watch movies whilst stationary.

 

Is there anyway around this so you can watch movies while moving as me and my girlfriend frequently travel long distances and she cant watch anything.

you didnt hear it from me but if you ground the wire it should be fine...and of course make sure its just your mrs thats watching the movie

I believe it's a green wire that you just need to earth to a part of the body ~ this fools it into believing the hand brake is on and you should be able to watch DVD's then whenever you like.

Yeah the parking brake wire is green, ill earth the wire when I get home from offshore. Its annoying having a £500 stereo and the missus cant use it to watch films, but I do see it from a safety point of view

I too believe it's a bit daft ~ more health & safety gone mad if you ask me.

 

I mean the reason I bought a DVD head unit was for the same reason as you did probably, ..just so that my Mrs can enjoy a DVD whilst I enjoy driving the Zed on long trips. Don't get nagged so much either that way.

Yeah im more than happy driving with music where as she good bored easy and starts nagging "are we there yet" and it is easier to put a film on.
