Harryjax Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 The hand or parking brake light in the instrument cluster keeps flickering on and off even though the hand brake is off. Has anyone else had this? Quote
Chris AME Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 More tan likely brake fluid is getting a bit low Quote

GIXXERUK Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Have you tried moving the handbrake side to side when it's off to see if the light flickers ? Suggesting a lose connection Would double check the fluid though 1 Quote

GIXXERUK Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Not heard of it being a known issue Dave The light doubles as a fluid level alert aswell as the handbrake Quote

ross27 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 (edited) It was happening on mine the past few months, getting more and more obvious. I read up that it meant one of three things: Handbrake applied Low brake fluid ABS problem I believe mine is low fluid, coupled with pads which are all on the low side. Got some Dot4 to just top it up, but i think the problem is the rear pads being low. Edited May 27, 2014 by ross27 1 Quote
370Ad Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Previous owner of mine had this. Low brake pads were the problem apparently. Quote
ross27 Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I had a squealing front pad, so i spent the time taking out the pads, checking/cleaning them and putting a bit of copper grease on the back of them. They are low, but not too bad. Anyway, i topped up the fluid, and the light is no longer coming on. And thankfully, the screeching has gone!! Quote
