kinglozzer Posted April 26, 2014 Share Posted April 26, 2014 I've been ignoring my exhaust rattling for a few months now, only ever did it when cold and wasn't too bad. I've got my MOT next month, so today used some fine wire mesh and exhaust repair 'gum' to patch up a small hole in the back-box. When I was working under the car, I noticed what looked like a loose piece of metal above the exhaust - I'm guessing it's some sort of heat shield? Anyway, whoever last worked on the car had left it in there loose! None of the 4 bolts were actually holding anything, so it was just sitting there on top of the back box!
