350 Russ Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 My zed is an 03 import and only has 1 key, this is a problem as getting a spare key for a JDM is pretty much impossible, so thats got me thinking, can i buy a barrel and door lock from a UK zed with 2 keys and get it coded to work with mine? I know its possible on my alfa as thats how i got around not having to buy a spare key for that. Any help would be appreciated, Quote
AndyG8nby Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 When I bought my uk car with only one key I went to timpsons and was quoted 220 ish for a spare but was told they had to wipe the whole lot and re program everything, would this not be the same with a JDM? Quote

Its not that simple with JDM's they work on a different bandwidth to the uk's so getting hold of them in the first place is nigh on impossible. Quote

R35LEE Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Can turn Nats off at ecu. Jap Key fobs can be used with any JDM spec car. Just need to code I might be able to get a JDM key, I will call a mate tomorrow for you. Quote
