Handy tip for fitting new pads

Hey guys,

Thought I would share my experiance of fitting new Black diamond discs and pads (Brembo fit) to the front.

If you find that one or both of the pads are really stiff to come out and go back in you will probably have some bubbling of the paint on the inside of the caliper where the metal slider sits. Don't think that the pads are the wrong size, im sure I have read that before on here. The paint underneath this is notorious for bubbling which in turn pushes the metal slider out enough to stop new pads going in and the old ones being a bitch to remove.

What to do is remove the slider which is held in by one T27 torx screw. Give it a good clean and file down to remove any and all build up. And also clean up the paint underneath where it sits. You will find that the paint will just flake off very easily with a flat screw driver. Once you are happy that it is all clean refit the slider. The new pads should slip right in with little effort.

Job done :)

Heres two pics of what the slider looks like and where it is. You can also see that the paint has bubbled and is lifting underneath. Sorry for not having any with it all cleaned up, was too dirty and couldnt be bothered :p
