I was wondering if anyone had any good experience with standard brwmbo pads ~£36 for the front set. I don't track my car (I might go once this year but may get new pads for that anyway..) and generally do normal driving with some weekend 'spirited driving' when the weather drys up! As I drive my car to work most days too I don't need anything that needs to be warmed up or will be really loud and squeally.. I'd be interested in slightly upgrading my pads but don't know what is good for my use of driving. Any help would be great Quote
Ewen@Clark Motorsport Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) The aftermarket Brembo pads are fine for everyday use but I would not recommend them for a track day. We have sold plenty of them for road use though and had no complaints, we sell replacement anti squeal shims if yours have been removed at £12. brillomaster Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 +1 am looking at these as well for my next brake pads - i have ferodo DS2500s at the moment, but they're like, £120 an axle. similarl story to you - car is used as a daily and doesnt do any track work (have a track car for that) and generally, when driving i try and do as little braking as possible! my assumption is that standard brembo pads will overheat quicker and have less friction than performance pads, but seeing as im not in the habit of doing long alpine descents i dont think it will be a problem. EDIT just noticed Clark Motorsport reply - yep that sounds good, will be in touch when i need them! Quote

They're just fine IMO, I'm a standard road driver (could be called spirited!) but I do have grooved rota's too. Changed them myself and it was a pretty easy job!
