Meeerrrk
Has anyone swapped their kph trip computer for a mph trip computer and it not worked? I have done the above and the digital display isn't working, the volts, oil pressure are ok, but there is no info in the display. When I plug my kph set back in and they work as expected, full display and the button on the dash cycles through the different displays etc. I've attached a picture so you can see, any help would be greatly appreciated. Do you think I could have a faulty gauge cluster unit, or do I need to change the white control module behind the dash? I bought the cluster from a seller on this site, he says it was good. Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated guys; this is really bugging me and getting me down, I thought it was going to be easy plug and play. It may be worth noting I have replaced the headunit this weekend, but remember the kph set still works when plugged in.

marzman
Nope, i did this and it was a very easy straight swap... no other fiddling to get it to work. Can you see any loose connections or dry joints on the PCB on the back of the digital pod?
Meeerrrk
Thanks for the response. I'll have to take it all apart and compare it to the working KPH set to see if anything got damaged during shipping etc. can't believe this has happened, everything else went fairly well. Thanks for the help
Meeerrrk
Just an update for anyone who searches in the future. The triple gauge cluster must have been faulty - I replaced it with another set and it worked. Just unlucky I guess! If you have this problem, it must be the gauge cluster. Quinster
I'd ideally like to change to mpg as well, how do i do this? Do i need one of those heater brain gizmos? Just looked and they're £69 on e-bay.
mk1_nutter
You can just install the guages but the clock won't work. You need the brain to make this work.
