sam350z2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Hi Was gna change my brakes for the first time today. But was wondering whether you need to put any type of lube on the back of the brake discs ? Many thanks ! Quote
KyleR Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 No the discs, but put copper grease on the back of the pads Quote
peteman35 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Yeah you need to put a bit of copper grease on the part of the disc that sits up against the hub. Also a bit around the hole the hub goes through 1 Quote

Also a bit around the hole the hub goes through You can if you want - the idea being it stops them rusting together etc... but in my experience ive never bothered and have not had any problems with discs rusting onto hubs, even after 80k miles. The copper grease on the back of the brake pads can help stop squealing but if i remember rightly when I changed the pads on my zed the originals already had anti-squeal shims which I just transferred to the new ferrodo pads.
