That's my opinion and that of someone who works with CF all the time. When sanding down or even chemically stripping to remove the paint its very easy to breach the lacquer and damage the weave and once this has happened it can't be fixed. Color coding the strip will not detract from the large area of CF exposed for all to see. In a way it blends nicely than the shut line being the boundary between the CF bonnet and the panels.
