Hi all

Still to collect my Z, quick question

It will be used as a second car and probably wont be doing a zillion miles per annum, infact may go for several weeks without use, daft question maybe, but, do I need to do anything, keep my eye on anything

Sorry if it sounds a complet idiots question but having company cars for years has got me "out of car mode"

Cheers Rob

Cars are generally better if they are used regularly. Regular use keeps the fluids moving and stops premature wear on rubber parts.

Leaving a car stood for a few weeks at a time isn't really an issue but you should think about a trickle charger for the battery. You'll also need to check the fluids before you use it, oil levels, coolant levels, brake fluid levels. However this should all be part of a regular maintenance routine anyway.

Personally I would also attempt to leave it with little fuel in the tank so that it gets a fresh tank when you next want to use it.

Never bothered me really. I leave bikes n cars for three months at a time (due nature of job). Give them a good clean before storing them, disconnect batteries and actually fill them with petrol. Stops corrosion on the inside of tanks. Fresh fuel won't go of in a few months.
