Bristol Steve Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Hi guys, I have a metallic black 2007 but with stone chips, (motorway miles) bird strike and scratches, do you think by getting it mopped would be a good ideal, Quote
modd1uk Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Mopped ? No. You will probably need bits painting depending how bad the stone chips are. And its called paint correction not mopping. Quote
Bristol Steve Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 Well thanks for that, I thought it was called Mopping, Quote
modd1uk Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Where abouts are you located ? Plenty of advice/detailing companies over on the detailingworld forums buddy. Quote
Oakley350z Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Mopping/ compounding will help, will freshen up the paintwork and not make it look as tired.. As blacks usually do.. Will help get rid of small scratches and any marring present from cleaning etc. If your willing to part with the cash then it would be better to get all the chips etc done. But if your just looking to make it look abit tidier then a mop over the car and a black felt tip for the stonechips will do the trick Quote
Bristol Steve Posted July 28, 2013 Author Posted July 28, 2013 based in Bristol, won't mopping my Zed,affect the laquer? I know that the paint is thin on nissan's Quote
350 Russ Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 based in Bristol, won't mopping my Zed,affect the laquer? I know that the paint is thin on nissan's as long as you dont strike through the laquer it will be fine, will make it a bit thinner but thats all. if your doing it yourself then be careful as its really soft and will leave holograms really easily Quote
cs2000 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I read this whole thread as Moped for some reason. Made absolutely feck all sense...until I realised.... 1 Quote
