champy Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Just so I've got this right. If I want an iPod hooked up to the stereo, I either have to do the iPod hack or buy a new head unit. However the US spec head units have an extra plug on the back that allow an iPod module like this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XCARLINK-iPod-iPhone-for-NISSAN-350Z-Almera-Tino-Murano-Navarra-Note-SKU1187-/350509391614?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item519bfcdefe to be hooked up. Have I got that right? But I found this post on a forum - http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/120-audio-electronics/51341-works-ipod-integration-into-2003-factory-bose-w-navigation.html and that guy seems to have the same spec head unit as the UK. So would we just be able to use the same module he used? Quote
Shenley Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 If you still have the original unit with a cassette deck - then just buy one of these:- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-CPA9-AE-Car-cassette-adaptor/dp/B00007EDLW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1373975777&sr=8-4&keywords=ipod+cassette+adaptor You can pick one up at a pound shop too............. Ekona Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Please don't buy the cassette adaptor. Your ears will hate you for it. UK cars DO NOT have that plug socket on the back of the Bose. There was one incredibly good looking forum member on here who took a punt on buying one back in 2008 on the off-chance, and he confimed 100% that they will not fit. Either hack, or prefereably buy a new head unit. Quote
champy Posted July 16, 2013 Author Posted July 16, 2013 Clicky clicky Ahhh bummer, guess the ipod hack it is then. Crazy that the US and UK one have the same stereo face but the UK has one less socket. Quote
