I'll try to video a lap or two from the sidelines and post it either later tonite or tomorrow

Chesterfield & Beavis - If Tim cannot make it I do perhaps have a young Lewis Hamilton for you. He's a 14 yr old lad that has his own kart and is reasonably handy. But hopefully Tim will be able to make it as I'm sure their's racing blood running thru his veins :drive1:

Jonathan if Tim does not come next week i could get my brother, he his a keen kartist too. But wont be able to do tonight but defo for next Thursday...I'm in.

 Sounds like a plan that does. If Tim can't confirm then yes, bring your Bro.

Judging by Chesterfield's self-assessment you're gonna need all the help you can get with him in your team :bleh:

No worries about tonite but we'll see you at Amen Corner Karting next Thursday 6pm ish. If you need it, my number is 07875 490077.

Have the karts got alloys?

If so, keep them the bloody hell away from my mrs !!!

Anyone know a decent place to get a GT4 wheel refurbed?

On the plus side, it makes the argument for getting new rims a little easier. :teeth:

I'm sure Beavis got his done but I have tried two places and both have said they couldn't just repair the damage and would need to repair and then respray the whole rim! Got quoted well over £250 for the whole set. Sod that i thought and bought the Volks :)

Kart Team - Chris ask your Bro but let me know asap as I'll try to find a 3rd for you.

Wheels - if Mrs Chesterfield has curbed the alloy slightly then my bodywork guy can help. He's done mine before and he's repainted them a couple of times when the usual corrosion has come thru. He's on vacation at the moment but back in a couple of weeks. Steve Smalley is his name, 07971 690 944 is his number.

He'll need your wheel(s) for the day and it'll be about £30 per wheel tops.

Ive asked my brother and he is up for it - so if thats OK, we are back to a full team again.

Beavis, remind me to have a chat about the wheel refurb - as always with these things Ive looked again and its not as bad when assesing it for the second time.

Its in two places, just on the rim luckily and not the spokes of the wheel at all, its in two places (one going up the kerb and once coming down I imagine) about 3 or 4 inch long each mark, and quite deep.

Needless to say she was slightly in the dog house, and was quite close to having a £150 metro from the motor auctions.

Just a quick note to say thanks a bunch for the invite Jonathan. Tracy, my brother and myself had a cracking time. Very well organised and a cracking track too.

Im still kicking myself that I didnt take the new camera though.

Sorry about mine and my brothers lap times Beavis, we had to give yo some work to do! :)

After reviewing the lap times for all cars over all laps, my claim to fame is the longest lap time of the entire event, even longer than most of the driver change/pitt laps!

It was however the most spectacular "off" of the evening though I think. Full speed into turn 1 :teeth: For a brief moment I did have visions of dissapearing over the bank. Still, it gave them an excuse to use the radio controled function to slow all the cars on the track down.

We must do it again :teeth:

Our team finished 5th out of 9, Jonathans team finished first.

I think our teams lack of success can be partly blamed on my pork pie intake some years ago, and my experiment with the karts off road capabilities at one point during the race

I did bag second fastest lap of the night though, think jonathan was impressed with that especially with it been the first time i had see the track. Mightly impressed with Chris's off, thought he was going to plough the field for a moment. Thanks again Jonathan for the night out it was superb and we must do it again!! Got back home for 9.55 after seriously gunning the zed back home, only problem now is i have about 40 million dead bugs splattered on the front.

Glad you all enjoyed it. It was a fun evening for sure; finished off well with some banter and good socialising in the pub. Thanks ALOT for coming, it was good to have the 350z mini meet too - Lomoto showing his support by turning up to watch

Here's a link to the Westfield guys' website thread, They seemed to enjoy themselves too -

Below are (hopefully) the stats. I've highlighted each teams' Fastest Lap and I'm pleased that my Bro was on my team - he had 13 of our 22 sub-35-second laps :drive1:

I was also pleased to get a PB of 34.752 which I'm looking forward to bettering next time I venture down there. While I was hoping we'd be competitive I didn't expect us to win. Chuffed to **** that we did though :#1:

Thoroughly enjoyable evening, well marshalled and professionally run.

We've booked the track EVERY Thursday to drive our own karts so if anyone ever wants to turn up then let me know we'll see if we can get you a run round.

Kart 4 is Team Custard:
