kevlar Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Hi guys, I need some work done on my Zed and after a not so good time with a local dealership recently I have decided to find a local specialist garage. I was wondering where people take their zeds in the bristol area to be serviced etc? Thanks! Quote
choptop Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Hello Kevlar. Are you looking for a Nissan Dealer or an Independant? Which Nissan Delearship hasn't lived up to your expectations? Quote
kevlar Posted June 20, 2013 Author Posted June 20, 2013 (edited) Hi choptop, We met ages ago in Yate! How are things? Good to see you still have the zed too! I'm thinking independent, I'm getting squeaking/creaking from the suspension. Thinking it may be bushes... The dealer was Nissan in Bath, Platinum. Caught one of the mechanics revving and flooring my car at the back after being serviced. Complained and to be fair to the service guy (nice guys there) they gave me a huge discount! Just lost confidence now due to that... Edited June 20, 2013 by kevlar Quote
choptop Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Hello Platinum at Box is the local dealer I would have recommended to go to. Sorry to hear of your negative experience. On the independant front a few people have said good things about a garage near the Feeder. PM Bocaaarck and I think he may be able to help you further. I tend to do my own servicing so personally cannot recommend a local specialist independant. Look forward to seeing you at a future meet Can anyone help further here? Quote
DaddyCee Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 (edited) what is the Nissan Dealer like in Pennywell Road in Bristol? Edited July 22, 2013 by DaddyCee Quote
DaddyCee Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 soon to find out as I think this year I will be taking it there. Wish me luck *gulp. Quote
G.I Ginge Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I use a garage called FCM Motorsport. The mechanic, John, is very knowledgable about the car and always gives me a fair price on any work. I'm not super-knowledgable about the car- I just like to drive it around tracks- but FCM Motorsport definitely get my vote. Quote
DaddyCee Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Karman Autocare is an independent back street garage, they did a great job on both my suspension bushes, brakes and exhaust, when they needed attention. I bought the parts through ZMANALEX on this forum and my exhaust was through CougarStore also on this forum. Carlton knows his stuff around all different vehicles. Just been given the news by Nissan Pennywell Road (after its last service) that the 4 discs on my 07 Roadster need replacing, so I'm going to buy the gear through ZMANALEX and then get Carlton to fit. Would definitely recommend. Quote
G.I Ginge Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I've bought a number of parts from Cougar Store as well, then had them fitted. I'd strongly recommend doing things that way- it really can save a lot of money. 1 Quote
DaddyCee Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 yep the 1.6K that Nissan wants to charge is ridiculous imho. Quote
kevlar Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 Thanks guys I am going to give Karman and FCM a cal tomorrow. My car is currently at Nissan Pennywell road, they have identified that the chain has stretched and maybe need some work on variable valve timing. Will see what these guys have to say as Nissan want a lot to fix it! They have been brilliant at pennywell road, will use them again definitely Quote
Elgrandman Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Am hoping that I can get my E51 (2002) Elgrand Van looked at at one of these, when it needs it. Thanks for this info. Edited January 9, 2014 by Elgrandman Quote
