Engine management light on startup?

Is the EML supposed light up during startup? In any other car ive had it does but on my zed is doesn't As I've never been in another one I don't know if this is normal or if the light isnt working

From memory all lights should show on startup then go off, others will confirm though im sure

It lights up on mine then goes off upon full start.

yup normal :)I always assumed it was so MOT testers could check if the lights were all working.

Thanks, my fear was it had been removed but it looks like it has. Im having problems with the car and couldn't work out why I was getting no errors on the dash but now i know

What problems are you getting? I've had a few Evo's in that have had a de-cat fitted and the CEL have been removed as they stayed lit after this mod............if you have a similar issue you could replace the bulb and hopefully map the CEL out. If you don't have access to a code reader and are going to Japfest i can always put my 2 readers in the car so you can have a free look at what's going on

Problems appear to be linked to a throttle body that was badly needing cleaned and 2 front 02 sensors which were gone completely. It doesn't seem like enough to merit removing the bulb as they are pretty easy fixes

 

Hopefully wont need a reader for a while
