Boot Release

I sure this has been covered already but couldn't find the topic.

 

I thought I could live with the boot release that doesn’t release first time. I think it’s a common issue and pi**ing me off now.

 

Can it be fixed under warranty?

Just remove the weight 'assist' from inside the boot door, did mine last night and then just kept opening and closing it over and over with no dramas

Take it in to the dealers, they should swap the springs for better ones for free. Might need to order them so perhaps give them a call, there's a TSB for it on the Nissan system.

Yes it is a reported issue (same as the 350's) that Nissan will say is fixed by uprated springs.

 

I had mine done which improved the problem a little, but especially in cold weather it is still a two-handed job.

As above, thanks Colin for the link, this is a permanent fix and only takes 5 mins to remove a useless piece of weight. You don't even have to drop the whole of the plastic cover/liner, with a bit 'face pulling' you'll get your hands in by just popping 4 retainers and removing the blind cover retainers.
