AFM refers to the AFR sensor aka the MAF

 

if it was thelamda it would refer to upstream or down stream O2 sensors

Ok great. Thankyou very much. There was a dribble of water on it to be honest when I was checking earlier. Just a bit where it plugs in. I'll try carb cleaner. I'm guessing that's the spray stuff.

Yes but dont use a cloth or anything just spray the MAF cleaner and leave it.

also electrical contact cleaner in the connector. again let it dry out and don;t touch it.

Well it' been driven loads since the 24th and appears to be cured. Bought some electrical contact cleaner as recommended, cleaned everything I could find including MAF. Also bought some air intake cleaner spray to give the throttle body valve a bit of a clean. Guessing it was one or the other. Thanks for all the help! Now all perfect and ready to sell
