Hi all

Looking at my options for getting rid of the japanese head unit. Just wondered if someone can help..

Will a UK BOSE head unit simply plug n play as an exchange for the japanese unit? 2003 car. Will I need a code with the 2nd hand unit?

thanks

Jim

OEM headunits must be properly "divorced" from their donor cars.

Best PM R35LEE, as he most likely has one or two in stock

+1. You could try a band expander for the radio.

Why not just put a cheaper more up to date unit in

TBH Im leaning towards that, an all in one system with satnav etc. - but I have a friend with a UK head unit which is already removed from its previous car, just wondering if thats a load of ag or whether it will just go in and work as a direct replacement.?

A bit of aggro and expense to unmate it wirh his car, I am sure you COULD get it to work but don't see the logic... Also is it a Bose and does your JDM have a sub and rear speakers

Yes mate it is a Bose system in my car, with the sub and rear speakers

Whats the difference between the jap unit and uk unit

The frequency that the radio works at i reckon.

This,

JDM bose is the exact same, bar it only tunes to like 90.1 or something
