Squeeky / creaky clutch

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

After several weeks of care free driving, the ZED has decided to create the most annoying creaky / squeaky noise when the clutch pedal is depressed / released. When released slowly is sounds like an old creaky door being opened. It's particularly worse in cold / wet conditions. Have been browsing the net and there is not much out there in regards to what it can be and how to solve it.

Some of the chaps have concluded that it might be a small pivot joint or part of the clutch assembly that requires ’re-greasing'?

Anyone had this problem and solved it??

Update: Just encase anyone asks, the car is a 53 with 39K, original clutch.

Much help appreciated as always :)

If the creak is from the top of the pedal area then just lubricate the fulcrum area where the spring is located.

If it is from the clutch fork area, then just pull back the boot on the side of the gearbox and lubricate accordingly.

Alex,

As always, thanks for your advice. Shall give it a go this weekend and report back.

When you say fulcrum area are you talking about the spring and pedal assembly behind the clutch pedal under the dash?
