JohnUKVetteNut Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Hi Folks My 2005 Zed is reading 10% fast on the speedo at all speeds! 30mph is reading 33mph 50mph is reading 55mph 80mph is reading 88mph checked it out with a Garmin sat nav which (garmin say) is accurate to 0.5 mph Can they be recalibrated or do i just live with it? spursmaddave Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 You can take the main dials out, take off the needle and put it back but to be honest its a lot of messing about really.... you will be glad when you go past a 30mph speed camera doing 33mph then realise you are safe Quote
JohnUKVetteNut Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 OK I'll live with it then! johnukvettenut Quote
simon da silva Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 tbh its quite normal that the speedo is showing numbers higher then the actual speed.. only problem is, if its like 5% more then the real speed your car will also have 5% more miles on the clock then it has actually driven Quote
ijam Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Do you have different wheels/tyres to standard? If your tyre diameter is different that will put your speedo out. cheers Ian Quote

If you have a different rolling radius to OEM set-up, your speedo will be inaccurate. But, every car I have ever owned has had a small percentage difference between actual speed and GPS indicated speed. Quote
