theheff Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 sorry if this is in the wrong section. I've always seen oil catch cans installed on modified cars in magazines etc, am wondering what they actually do and if there is a benefit to fitting one? cheers Quote
CrumbMC Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Never had one myself but i was curious one day and looked it up. I think that when youre running boost, oily @*!# can get forced past the piston rings. oil catch can filters this out so theat you dont get a build up of crud. Quote
ds2000 Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Its not just for cars with boost, some NA's with breathers top end/rocker can also pass sludge back into the intake. Quote
