Chee350 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 hi guys. Think the ballast has gone in my passenger side headlight. Both lights have condensation in them so I'm a bit worried that this has caused it and am looking for advise on drying out and possibly re sealing the unit? As these are pretty dear to replace so would like to do it once. Any advise would be welcome. Thanks guys. I want to get her perfect before I post a load of pics Cheers Chee. Quote

rtbiscuit Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 pop the light unit in the oven it will reactivate the glue and make it soft, then take out and give a good push around the seams and it should re seal the unit. but only do it once the moisture is out. Quote
Chee350 Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 Cool I'm going to pop them off this weekend and dry them out. Then il check over the seals and do the oven trick. This may be a stupid or more strange question but what kind of temp and time scale am I looking at for the perfectly cooked headlight? Thanks guys. Quote
rtbiscuit Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 i would say a low heat of about 100 - 150 degree Celsius for about 10 minutes. i've not done it but i know it works, that would be my rough estimate on temp and time. might get away with 200 degrees but i'd keep an eye on it. Quote
