GC350z Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Great start to the new year for me. Bose system decided CD's are too complicated and I should only use tapes or the radio. All it says is "Check Disc". Couldn't believe it. Had to tune in the radio for the first time in years. Hate radio and haven't seen a tape for years. Love listening to the noise of the Z but need my tunes. Nissan will be getting a mouth full as soon as they open for business this week. Oh yea, Happy New Year to all. Guy Quote
Mathys Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Happy New Year to you too! I gave up already on my second Bose HU, it cuts out the sound either on the left or right or both sides. Also it starts to skip the tracks... Quote
Sgt Wilson Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 I'm sick of mine, skips when cold and just disappointed in what is meant to be a decent system. ripping the Bose out and fitting something a bit more ear friendly. Happy New Ear Quote
GC350z Posted January 1, 2007 Author Posted January 1, 2007 So the best option is to go to Nissan and get it replaced meanwhile buy an aftermarket unit to replace the new Bose unit. I got questions . What double din unit would anyone like to recommend and will it work with the phone controls on the steering wheel? Thanks guys. Quote
Sgt Wilson Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 There's some great advice in the ICE and electronics section if you've got time to wade through it. from what I can gather Alpine do some top HU's but you may require some sort of adapter to use the steering wheel controls. I bought a load of JL stuff (speakers and amps) from 'charlied' a member on here and am gonna go for the best Alpine HU I can afford. hope this helps. Quote
GC350z Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 After taking the day off to bring the car into Nissan they spent 30mins on it. Removed stereo, got serial number, put it back in and said they're order a new one. Sweet Quote
stuey Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 i put an alpine in mine ...... cd.....mp3....radio.... my bose was just electronic junk.......!! Quote
GC350z Posted January 10, 2007 Author Posted January 10, 2007 I'll probably do the same but need to have a working stock unit to put back whenever I pass her on. Also, need to work out all the parts needed to get an aftermarket unit working with the steering wheel controls for phone and stereo. Quote
live2themaxuk Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 i put an alpine in mine ...... cd.....mp3....radio.... my bose was just electronic junk.......!! did u use a harness adapter (PAC) to link in the alpine to the factory BOSE amps? does it sound better? The factory BOSE is an absolute disgrace. . . . . Jamie Quote
GC350z Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 Nissan fitted new unit today. Shame it's not mp3. At least its a 6 CD. Was afraid they fit a single disc unit by mistake. Quote
stuey Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Nissan fitted new unit today. Shame it's not mp3. At least its a 6 CD. Was afraid they fit a single disc unit by mistake. that should do you then for 3 weeks till it goes wrong again......... Quote
GC350z Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 Hope to f*** that wont be the case. From reading other posts the 06 unit seems to of fixed problem. I would of expected the 06 unit to be the mp3 one. Here's to 3 weeks of great music Quote
live2themaxuk Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 id use the word 'great' rather loosly when talking about the BOSE Quote
