THRUST BEARING ISSUE

Hi there, the Z has developed the same problem that lead to the pivot pin in the gearbox to break a couple of years ago, the output shaft (gearbox) must be dry (at least from past experience that's what the symptom is)...

Is there an inspection hatch or can I grease it from where the fork goes into the gear box?

Cheers...

Answer is yes, remove the rubber bung where the fork comes out, cleaned the shaft (there was a serious amount of black gunk came out, old grease and clutch dust) greased it up, closed rubber bung (bastid), jobs a good un...

If you need it done Stewart Motor Engineers, Carfin, Motherwell...

Hope this helps someone in future...

P.S. Have you read some of the @*!# on the American websites, replacing gearboxes and such... FFS, mad...
