northernmonkey
Hi guys, Had my 350z Gt for just over week now. Generally happy with my purchase but think I could of got better! Introduction link - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=53108 I saw the advert on here which had a link to eBay etc... Car looked good, description sounded fantastic, went to look at the car with my limited experience with purchasing second hand cars. Typical of me to be impatient and want it there and then. Got the car for £7000, 58k on the clock, it needed rear tyres straight away (cost £360) last two services not dealer and needed a good clean inside and out. I had the car cleaned professionally inside and out, not quite a detail but polished etc... On closer inspection to the body work the amount of scratches and stone chips became alarming! Plus it looks like the front bumper has had a respray to the near side! Looking at the rims now they have been cleaned properly, they are badly corroded and pited. The alloys are rays volk gt-c, can't believe someone would let these £2500 alloys get into this state! It's going to cost £400 to have them refurbed. To add insult to injury when taking the car for drive and giving some beans on a national speed limit road, when changing from fourth to fifth there is a grinding/crunching noise. This sound like a synchro problem! Anyway I'm generally happy with the car just thought I'd share with you. All in all its going to stand me at around 8k when all done, it will be a fantastic condition car when I'm done with her. Moral of the story being don't rush into buying, always look at a few and take your pick! pics added http:// Untitled by northernmonkeyx2011, on Flickr http:// Untitled by northernmonkeyx2011, on Flickr http:// Untitled by northernmonkeyx2011, on Flickr http:// Untitled by northernmonkeyx2011, on Flickr http:// Untitled by northernmonkeyx2011, on Flickr http:// Untitled by northernmonkeyx2011, on Flickr http:// Untitled by northernmonkeyx2011, on Flickr Mike. Stroudy
Always take your car on a thurough road test using all the gears and checking the clutch etc. Can save you loads of money in the long run.
brillomaster
wouldnt worry too much if you can get it sorted - i think a Uk GT car with 58k was a steal at 7k, all the ones ive looked at have been closer to £8 - 8.5k. theres always the inevitable things that will need doing straight away. I think that's why I'm not that fussed, it's gonna be used as a weekender so these issues will be sorted but in no rush. Really enjoying the car though, sounds awesome

BulletMagnet
Depending where you are in the country, the Volks can be refurbed at PureKlas for £200 if it's dishes only, for another £25 per wheel they'll powdercoat the centres in any colour you want. PureKlas are based in Coventry.
