Hi

I see there is a spacer kit available for the 350z to increase air capacity for the front two cylinders but would it be the same if I just replaced the plenum chamber with a later model? Or will there be other complications?

I guess you have a pre revup engine, ie pre 2006?

If so changing the lower collector won't benefit and a plenum spacer is all you need.

Yes I believe it is a 53 plate so non rev up. The only reason I ask is becase I work at a BMW garage and we have an 07 plate in as a trade in. Would changing the top section have any influence? I thought I read somewhere that the air filter housing is modified as well? Would this be worth changing?

Thanks for the reply

06 revup+ had a modification to the internals of the air intake box with a longer velocity stack. This will improve (very minimal) air flow. Your pre revup won't benefit from a lower plenum change, but the spacer will. If the 07 plate is MY07 this has twin intakes and as far as I know it's not possible withought a LOT of ££££ to swap this with your 53plate.

If you are keen to spend some cash get the plenum spacer and the improved velocity stack from RTbuscuit. Pm him or search his member trader area.

You can't change upper or lower plenum of a DE engine for the ones from an HR engine.

They are vastly different engine designs.
