MarkLee77 Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Hi not sure if this is in the right sec but here goes recently I fitted an air filter to my 350z seemed fine to start with but now after I rev the engine the revs drop very low for a few secs then come back to normal tick over coincidence? or to do with the air filter? I have checked there does not appear to be any leaks any help would be appreciated Quote
lrh Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Induction kit? If it's not shielded and sucking in hot air then the engine will have trouble idling and have to open the throttle to compensate. Throttle valves also get gunged-up over time by oily air being sucked in from breather pipes. Quote
MarkLee77 Posted August 10, 2011 Author Posted August 10, 2011 cheers, it is shielded but I think I will put back original box see if it makes a difference then I ll check the throttle valves Quote

ZMANALEX Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 I would not worry about this to much as air filters are replaced daily and CAI kits are fitted on a regular basis. You do not mention which type of filter or CAI that you have fitted. Perhaps it is a fitment issue or a simple reset may be required. Good idea to swop back to oem to check for comparisons Give me a shout if you are still having issues and I will send you links for the resets. Alex. Quote
MarkLee77 Posted August 10, 2011 Author Posted August 10, 2011 Thanks for all the help I started from cold and it was fine but when it started to warm up it played up so am presuming it is a heat problem I will try to put in standard box at the weekend and post result once again thanks:-) Quote
