Motorised Number Plate Mount

I am thinking of ordering a motorised numberplate mount for the Z. I believe a few of you got a group buy on these? However, the one I am looking at is for a US plate, therefore will cause me some issues, what did you guys do to get around this (just cut the mount to size?)

the one i fitted i just ordered a new plate, but to the US plate size for the front.
