Intake tube from throttle housing to plenum

Hello all,

 

I'm not sure what it's called but I'm after a replacement for the black plastic tube that goes from the MAF sensor/throttle housing to the plenum. Can someone please help me with the name of that specific part?

 

Also does anyone also recommend me add an extra intake tube from the MAF/throttle housing to he pop charger filter so it's closer to the front air duct next to the right hand headlight?

to layer the inside of the heat shield to ensure no engine heat escapes through the gaps into the air intake section of the engine bay. Do you recommend this?

Right I think you mean the air intake pipe? I think its literally a simple as that.

 

The ebay stuff certainly wouldn't hurt to use but not sure how much impact it would have.

 

As for the 2nd pipe do you mean running a flexi tube from the hole in the front of the charger to the air duct? I think I few people have done this (usually with a nostril fitted in the bumper to allow more cold air to get through). Usually a bit of that flexi intake pipe does it.

Yes I think it is the air intake pipe (the longer one that goes from plenum, under the strut brace to the MAF housing). What is the best material to get? I've heard some material has an adverse effect on intake.

 

With regards to the flexi tube, I was not planning to add any additional cold air feed ducts or pipes. I wanted to extend the tube between the cone filter and the MAF/air flow sensor housing. Basically take off the cone, join a new tube to that black MAF tube, then connect the cone filter onto the end of that. This will result in the cone filter being closer to the factory air duct, being further away from the engine and lower down inside the heat shield compartment. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say as I've already confused myself!
