350z Year Engine Change Questions

DAT International

Recommended Posts

Hi there everyone.

Thinking of going back to a 350z again as its ticking all the right boxes for me.

Im wanting to get a 2005+ 350z as I am correct that this is the car that I can fit an MREV2 too?

What other NA tuning options is there that would be worthy with a remap etc?

Other mods which would need done is a 2 way diff, HSD's/CS2's, hydro wand and the usual exhaust, decats etc etc.

Cheer

Fraser

2006+ has the revised engine unless you get a GT4 which will be on a 05 plate

Further to the response provided by Ian, yes the 2006 facelift and the GT4 are the only engines which can benefit from the MREV2 - if I recall from Mark at Abbey the HR engine already has modifications which replicate the MREV2.

Although I'm sure Mark mentioned, you seem to get better gains from the pre 06 engines when applying NA mods.

Swings and roundabouts I'd say.

Thanks for that info guys.

Hmm....

So what is the definitive pre-06 NA setup without going mental and going high comp and doing head work?

Would it be something along these lines:

CAI

Plenum Spacer

Cat Back Exhaust

Y-Pipe

Decats

Headers (if i can really be bothered dicking around for 8 hours)

Remap

Anything im missing there?

Cheers

That's pretty much it....

I'm just wondering actually if the Cosworth Plenum or something on the same lines would benefit instead of the plenum spacer. I'm sure Ian had one of those.... maybe he'll confirm....
