removing strut brace cover

Ello all,

 

I want to remove my strut brace cover to wrap it, but can't seem to make it budge. Remove the two end pieces and there doesnt appear to be anything else holding it in but it's stuck solid - more brute force needed??

 

What am I missing?

If you gave taken all the bits off around it the just brute force

 

There is not one piece of plastic trim on my strut at the moment, it is naked
