mk3golfcab Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 hi all, I have a 54 plate 350z and am having some issues with the standard headunit, basically the tape deck and radio work fine but the cd changer seems to work intermittently, it will skip and sometimes stop playing altogether, it seems to work once it's been on for a little while playing the radio etc. I've tried a laser cleaning disk three or four time but with no improvement. What I would like to know is, has anyone else had this problem and is there anything else I can do before changing the unit? I have a second hand unit but don't want to go through the work to change it if there's other things I could try first? Any help is greatly appreciated! Quote
BladesGrant Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 This is a common problem with the Bose. I think :pmr35lee: can help with this though, drop him a PM. Quote
mk3golfcab Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 Sorry forgot to add, I don't think I have the Bose system, I have a base model 350 (cloth interior) would this still be a Bose? Quote
rabbitstew Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 If its a bose it should say on the tape deck that its a bose - at least it does on mine. Swapping it out is a fairly straightforward job, i took mine out last w/end. Quote
mk3golfcab Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 Update, it's a standard Nissan headunit not a Bose one Quote
choptop Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Update, it's a standard Nissan headunit not a Bose one Made by Clarion I think if my memory serves me correctly. Someone else will probably know more than me though Quote
coldel Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Copy all your music onto an ipod, buy a holder which sits on the air vent next to your steering wheel, buy a cassette to ipod adaptor, plug it all in, bingo. Total cost = £18 Works a treat for me. Quote
