leonk Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Hi, Just after some advice. California987 has a rear spoiler for sale but it has a hairline crack in it. The spoiler is new and unfitted. Having spoken to a local body shop re. repair, painting and fitting they couldn't guarantee repair. my concern is that it might open up again and that would really upset me!! So any words of wisdom based on previous experience??? Please don't gazzump me on spoiler. Asked California987's permission first. Loving the new Zed and this Forum!! Seem to be spending an unhealthy amount of time on it, to the extent that the wife is convinced I'm up to something dodgy!! Thanks in advance. Quote
Roo Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Where is the crack and how long is it? Ive had mine repaired. Took a couple of visits and cost about 100 inc spraying. Position of the crack will be a factor in how easy it to repair. Quote
leonk Posted March 17, 2011 Author Posted March 17, 2011 Hi, thanks for quick reply. Have a quick look at California987's add on forum in "For Sale" gia cusso replica spoiler. photos show crack. Sorry couldn't set up link. Cheers Quote
rabbitstew Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Depends what its made of. If its plastic you can weld it. Ive done that loads on motorbike panels and the repair has been good as new and not re-cracked. Quote
Daryl Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I think that you could repair that with some 3M 9323. We often get cracks in parts, and this stuff is awesome,we use it to bond the chassis together,so if its good enough for that, then im sure it could hold your spoiler together. I wouldnt use just body filler, that will crack and fall out pretty easily. Quote
