Even a Honda civic is a status symbol over there Crazy thing is the same tax applies to bringing 2nd hand cars in. My dad retired and wanted to take his 10 yr old Mazda 626 back to Malaysia. Car was worth about £700 in UK but they wanted £8000 import tax just to bring it in Worked out cheaper for him to buy a brand new Malaysian built car fully loaded Quote
