mine seems ok, although I've only tried them out twice.. on the min setting they do take a little while to heat up.. roll on the winter !

So's mine, but there seems to be some kind of resistor or thermostat device within a clear plastic shield and attached to some wiring underneath each of the seats. Any idea what these are?
