Will370z Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Hey guys, just picked up my car 3 days ago and am to ally loving it but I have noticed a little annoyance. I am getting a low level of static through all the speakers even when the music system is turned off. Is this a common problem, is there an easy fix. The car has a 12 month warranty so I'm happy to take it to get a look over. Any help would be much appreciated Will Quote
Beavis Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Its normal i am afraid, all to do with the ignition powering up the amp iirc. If your radio/cd is off you will hear it until you turn off the ignition. Quote
Will370z Posted August 4, 2010 Author Posted August 4, 2010 Thanks for the information really appreciated. Just a tiny annoyance, doubt I will hear it over the lovely engine noise anyway . Quote
yokomo Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 if the headunit is off thent he amp should be off too , static fromt he speakers is a little odd it imply the headunit or somtihn else is powering up the amp , i assume you hjae the bose ? Quote
Wes Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I agree with Dave, it's normal and mine is the same. As I understand its the amp that is powered up to support your phone connection via bluetooth. My previous cars have all required the radio to be on at least for the bluetooth to work. I assume the Zed is like this so phone calls can be received made even with the radio off. Wes Quote
Will370z Posted August 4, 2010 Author Posted August 4, 2010 Thanks for the info, good to know it's normal even though a little annoying but I'm sure I will get over it. Pity there is no way to stop it if you don't use a bluetooth phone. Thanks again guys, good to see such helpful people around to help out 350z noobs like myself. Quote
