stock head unit + sub

I'm planning on adding a sub and amplifier to my Z but would rather keep the stock head unit for now.

Could someone please let me know if it has any pre-outs connections or will I have to wire to the back speakers?

I assume you have a base Z then without Bose?

No pre-outs on the non-bose system mate, although if you are looking to play around with the audio the non-bose system is a bit easier to play with as there are no stock amps etc to bypass.

 

You are better buying a cheap ass cd player from halfords than trying to wire a sub into the rear speakers though

Yeh it is the pre 2006 base UK non-boze model.

Damn. I guess I'll go for a nice double DIN head unit then.

If you want to just add a subwoofer for now and keep the stock headunit then use an adjustable high to low level adaptor. Ive done this in our Swift Sport with good results. It'll never be as good as running from an aftermarket headunit with proper pre-outs but does the job.
