Saw that on the US forums and it's full of so much crap it's untrue! Nismo pads were availabe long before they had their crash. Also find it strange why no one else who takes their car on track on the US forums has had this problem? They all experience fade before the pads give up so why did C&D not get the same? Sounds to me like they just mash the brakes time and time again until thy just gave up, trying to make some excuse rather than admit they ran out of talent.

 

Admittedly the 370z brakes are a compromise, but like all cars you need to update the pads and fluid if you want to track it ;)

They're referring to uprated pads being offered as a option when buying new, and not just an aftermarket option. The Nismo is sold as a track-ready model so it should have them as standard.

 

Their conclusions seem fair. The brakes are no worse than other cars of similar weight but they could be a lot better. My Almera and 200SX both had some sort of ducting to cool the brakes so it's odd the 350 and 370 have nothing :wacko:

Uprating the pads and fluid made them last longer but you get little warning of when they'll go AWOL :drive1

They have been an optional extra since the Nismo model came out - fitted from the factory if desired :thumbs:

 

I agree though that maybe cooling wasnt the top of their lists when they designed the car. They seem to get a lot hotter than Brembos do on the 350z looking at the investigation the US forum chaps have done, but no where near as bad as C&D make out. Also no one State side has had a failure like them, and there are some pretty hardcore track guys over there.

The standard brakes on a nismo are poor most people are changing the brake pads and hoses the nismo pads are so expensive that they r not worth it . The brake cooling is not good either as they get very hot u can run vents from the fangs on the front to the discs if u get a problem with it
