can the bose/clarion head unit play mp3 encoded cds?

I have asked bose and they say no, but they dont make it, according to google and some sites from usa it can i have contacted clarion but heard zilch, i asked my dealer who doesnt know. dont get my new car for a few weeks but i am tempted to just take an mp3 cd down there and shove it in the bloody car to find out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually there is some confusion as to whether the 06 model can play mp3-cd's Anyone with an 06 model confirm?

 

Im pretty sure my 05 doesn't.

My understanding is the 1CD and 6CD radio's produced by Clarion do not have

MP3 function. But there might

be other non Clarion high line models ,which might have this function.

Please ask your local dealer for advise.

I've just tried an MP3 encrypted cd in the Bose unit in my 06 my coupe and nothing happed. Looks like you'll have to extend your cd collection or even cassettes!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for that, will just hook in my mp3 player. can i recommend for low price low tech the sony CP-A9 cassette adap it sounds very very good and only £8 and no radio interferance like with the itrip.

i got mine from amazon but you can get them in the odd hi-fi/dixons type place. i really cant get over how good the sound is. though if yiou get one make sure yuor tape player is playing the right side when i 1st got mine i thought i had been done till i tuirned the tape player over!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm 100% sure the 06 models in the US got one which plays MP3. It will say on the headunit 'MP3' on the right hand side if I'm not mistaken.

 

Not sure whether we will get them in Europe.
