The Z is in the garage and the problem is a valve bucket, the hardened centre has failed creating a gap between it and the valve stem, causing the noise. The technician says that he has never seen this problem before, so I think that I am lucky to have a bucket that missed the quality control at Renault or whoever made the engine!! Anyway, the replacement parts are on order (from Europe) so hopefully I'll have my car back next week. The cost will be around £1000 but hopefully the warranty company will cover this BTW the Z is a UK 04 GT on 49000m! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
