Hello Folks,

I have 0-40 Mobil 1 (like this when I bought it) in my Zed at the moment is this oil ok. I really what to get it onto 5-30 mobil 1. Will it be ok to us 5-30 as a top up until I get the oil changed?

PS I would change the oil but I feel it’s a waste as it was only done just before I bought the car (less than a 1,000 miles)

Thanks in advance for any advice

Yes you will be fine using that for top up.

Manual does state 5w-30 but i dont think the oil you have in will do any harm. I use Amsoil 5w-30

I think I'll use Amsoil 5w-30 for my next oil. Can I use it as a top up at the moment (mobil 1 0-40) in it just now

cheers

Sandy

Yes. Amsoil is a very high quality oil. A lot of independant reports rate it better than Mobil 1. :)

Does anyone use Redline? Used it in mine since I got it and find its making the engine a bit noisy before it heats up. Might go with ordering some Amsoil is thats considered good? :dummy:

their has been some comment about 0-40W being too thin for the Z

B) I read them actually but redline also has a thicker one 5-30 :snack:

5-30 or 10-40 will be fine :)

would Amsoil be 'better' ? Was thinking on using Catrol Edge too, using that in my Altezza :dummy:

For me SILKOLENE PRO-S 5W 40 Ester synthetic, there is no substitute.

Some statement...

So this is your NR 1 :#1:

:band:

Comes well recommended for the bike I got :bounce: ... I'll see if I can find some 'cheap' motor factors over here stocking that though. probably doesn't :byebye:

Yes, SILKOLENE has been used by me in my 300BHP Super-Charged Civic Type-R for over 3 and a half years, oil been changed every 3K, to some, thats overkill, but thats just me.

Silkolene is rated above existing standards, and will happily stay at 120 degrees on a track all day, or a daily drive without breaking a sweat, granted AMSOIL is good, but then theres Silkolene! Equally, MOTUL 300V Power is another one I would put in my engine, but I chose the SILKY.
