Rolling road - wheel horse power

Is it at all possible for some rolling roads (that use rollers) to give different wheel horse power (power at the wheels) readings to other rolling roads (for example if they're calibrated differently)?

the dyno/rolling road is a tool - it's relative only unto itself. Comparing your results on dyno a, with another at dyno b, even if they are identically branded dyno's, is essentially useless. Stick to the same dyno at all times, and if all else fails, you'll know your gains relative to where you started in the first place.

Absoultely spot on. So many people wrongly assume they should give the same result.

 

DynoDynamics try to compensate for this by having all their dynos hooked up to the net to share results and download updates to the software which is very admirable, but rarely works.

 

As Adam says use the same Dyno and try to keep the conditions the same (temperature, humidity, etc). Make sure you get a base reading too, dont assume Nissans power claims are correct
